Students interested in obtaining federal student aid should apply by the priority deadlines. For first semester students this is April 1st, 2024 for summer aid and June 1, 2024 for fall/spring packaging.
Students must be registered for classes and enrolled at least half-time, maintain satisfactory academic progress in a degree-granting program, and be either a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen to qualify for financial aid. The student has no current defaulted Federal loans and does not owe any repayments for federal or state grant program. The student has a valid social security number. Private loan requirements differ with each lender, some will allow less than half-time and do not require satisfactory academic progress.
Two: students must apply for Summer 2025 aid and Fall 2025/ Spring 2026 separately. Please complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA and 2025-2026 FAFSA. Please review the Application Procedures as they are subject to change each year.
In some cases, yes, for eligible dependent students the full cost of attendance can be covered with a combination of the Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans and the Parent PLUS Loan. However, PLUS loan offers are contingent upon an approved credit check. Independent students can only receive their allotted Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loan amounts and the remainder of the Cost of Attendance can be a combination of Private Loans, self-pay, and other resources.
